We are a small brew pub in Redwood City, CA, that specializes in cask conditioned, English style ales, though we also brew and package various keg beers and bottles. We’re looking for an Assistant Brewer to join our team.
Responsibilities
All functions related to brewing, including (but not limited to) wort production, cellar-work, cleaning and sanitizing equipment, and packaging of beer
Operating the entire brewing process
Quality assurance throughout the entire brewing process including detailed record keeping
Yeast management
Representing the brewery at various festivals and promotional events as needed
Possible beer deliveries as needed
Cleaning, organizing and more cleaning
Following safety procedures and maintaining a safe work environment at all times
Requirements
Ability to work with a team, including good verbal and written communication
Formal brewing education, or equivalent brewery experience, and comprehension of the fundamentals of Brewing Science
Ability to: repeatedly lift heavy objects safely, including 55lb sack of malt, >100lb casks and kegs, crouch in tight spaces, and working safely with chemicals, pumps, hot water and high pressure
Flexibility with work hours and availability
Hard working, self motivated, and positive
Full time, flexible hours.
Wage commensurate with experience.
