We are small midwestern brewery focused primarily on taproom sales with some distribution needs that are growing and therefor we need more help! We are looking for another brewer/assistant brewer to help with ALL brewing related activities. The candidate will also need to work in the taproom at times and help in pretty much any other another capacities as needed by the brewery. The right person can really make their mark here and will have a ton of growth opportunity and freedom in the brewery as brewer will also help provide input on recipe development, quality assurance and business development, lab setup, procurement of equipment, barrel program setup, sour beers development and more.
General Requirements and qualifications desired:
-Must be a respectful, open minded team player who loves making beer
-Be independent and self directed.
-Detail oriented but able to see the big picture.
-Have the ability to multitask and shift focus as the needs arise.
-Have good understanding of beer making - including raw materials, fermentation, yeast care, cleaning, sanitization, carbonation
-Ability to priority and organize tasks to enable maximum efficiency
-Must be able to stand 8-10 hours a day on occasion.
-Must be able to lift 75 lb.
-Must have good working knowledge of the commercial brewing process with some real experience.
-Must have great customer service skills.
-Must have good computer skills
-Must understand brewery safety issues
-Must be a hard worker and willing to put in long hours at times (8-10) when the schedule dictates it.
-Must be 21 and able to pass a background check.
-Must have excellent communication skills
