Immediate need! Assistant Brewer at Northern VA Farm Brewery
We have an immediate opening for an Assistant Brewer at our very
exciting farm brewery, Vanish, in Northern Virginia. We are an up and
coming brewery and have been enjoying a great response, so we are
looking to add to our team!
Our brewery works very close with our tasting room, so personality and
ability to interact with guests and bar staff is important. This will be a
very unique place, and a very exciting opportunity for the right
candidate.
US:
* Located in the village of Lucketts along the Potomac River, between
Leesburg, VA and Frederick, MD (about 45 mins west of DC).
* Vanish is located on a 53 acre farm where we focus on brewing with
ingredients grown on the farm and the surrounding areas.
* We have a 10 BBL system and a large tasting room with a ton of outdoor space - it's a beautiful rural setting to work in.
YOU:
* Only candidates 1+ years of production style brewing will be considered.
* Ability to both lead and to follow when called upon is important.
* Participate in the creative process of the brewery, working as a team and reporting to the Head Brewer and Lead Brewer.
* This is a TASK MASTER role with a significant amount of responsibility.
* Experience in horticulture or microbiology is desired, but not required.
* For the right person, potential to participate in the marketing and
customer experience.
Specific responsibilities for this position include, but aren't limited to:
• Responsible for entire brewing process including: brewing, cellaring,
and packaging.
• Cleaning / sanitizing tanks and other equipment.
• Kegging and keg cleaning.
• Accurate record keeping.
Misc. stuff you should know:
• Local candidates are preferred, we like you to have ties to our
area other than a job
• Physical strength to lift 55 lbs repeatedly. We are a completely manual brewery. No Automation.
• Possess a mechanical aptitude and strong troubleshooting skills
• Flexible work schedule- must be able to work early A.M. shifts and weekends!
• Ability to work in a TEAM!
