  • finicky keg(s) pours super-foamy

I love the DQM and the EasyBlend app, but I am flummoxed by this at the moment. Direct-draw system, elevation 4000', coldroom at 33 degrees, 100% bev-grade CO2, 8' 3/16" vinyl lines.

I have a Honey IPA (3 sextels) which I cannot get to pour nicely. Foam, foam, foam. I got it wrangled briefly last night at 18PSI, but today, back to foam. Most of my other kegs are at 12-14psi and they're fine.

I tried to rule out an coupler/faucet issue by swapping kegs connected to taps #1 and #2 -- but then the porter poured fine through #1 and the IPA foamed through #2.

Happy to hear any new theories or suggestions. Thanks!

    over carbed?

Maybe the beer is over-carbonated? If that's the case you'll need to leave the coupler on it with the gas off and pull the pin in the coupler until there is no gas left. Do that throughout the day and turn the gas on and try again.

Do you own a Zahm & Nagel or other device for testing CO2 levels? If not, and you are relying on perception to determine carb levels, you'll be experiencing more of this.
