Tommyknocker Brewery has been proudly serving the craft beer industry for over 23 years, we strive to produce the best quality beers and have been awarded over 100 medals from a multitude of local, national, and international competitions. We are located approx. 25 miles west of Denver in the small mountain town of Idaho Springs, Co. We promote healthy, active lifestyles. The brewery is just minutes from rafting, zip lining, fishing, camping, hundreds of hiking trails, 20 minutes from ski resorts.
We are looking for an innovative experienced production brewer to join our team. You must be a hardworking, self-motivated, able to work unsupervised as well as be part of a team, able to multitask in a very fast paced work environment. This position is a physically demanding brewing / cellaring position.
Our brewhouse is a very hands on system (no touch screens here or mash rakes here).
20 bbl brewhouse, 21 fermenters, 6 serving tanks, 1 brite tank, 15,000 bbl capacity
Duties include: Wort production (brewing 40 – 60 barrels daily), filtration, centrifuge, transfers, CIP/SIP, fermentation logs, yeast handling/ propagation, soda making, cleaning and filling kegs, tours, festivals, etc….
Preferred experience and abilities, but are not limited to:
• 2 years production brewery experience
• Formal brewing education desirable
• Ability to work in a fast pace, constantly changing work environment
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule including weekends as well as first or second shifts
• Strong mechanical and problem solving skills
• Lab experience desirable
• Physical requirements: brewer must be able to bend over, twist, kneel, stand for the duration of a shift and lift 55 lb.
Requires proper handling of hazardous materials and operation of machinery.
Reports to the head brewer and director of brewery operations.
