Experienced Brewer Needed – Straight To Ale
Straight To Ale is looking for an experienced, hard working, and creative full time brewer to join our team in beautiful Huntsville, AL. We are approaching 8 years in the craft beer business and need to add an additional brewer to meet our production goals. This brewer will join and outstanding team, concentrating on wort production, wood cellaring, and new recipe creation. We are looking for someone to join and contribute to the positive team culture that we have in place. Positive attitude is a must.
Straight To Ale is an award winning craft brewery in the “Rocket City” - Huntsville, AL. Our city is very craft beer friendly and the community definitely gets behind its local breweries. We have 2 facilities here in Huntsville and brew everything under the sun. We currently distribute in 7 states and have several popular taprooms.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Wort production on any of our brew systems that range from 3 BBL to 20 BBL and 30BBL.
Sampling and analysis of beer during the brewing/fermenting process, using our in house lab.
Cleaning and Sanitization of all brewery equipment.
Operation and cleaning of our centrifuges.
Carbonation of brite beer.
Communication with the packaging staff and the operations manager.
Record keeping using our in house forms and Orchestrated Beer.
Maintaining a clean work environment.
Sensory evaluation of our products.
Maintain and report inventory numbers on raw materials, etc.
Participation is occasional brewery events.
Requirements:
You must be able to bend over, twist, kneel, climb stairs, stand all day, lift full kegs, work in a non-temperature controlled environment and repeatedly handle hot and cold liquids.
Able to stand for long periods of time (up to 8-10 hours per day).
Strictly follow recipes and standard operating procedures while recommending ways of improving them.
Willingness to work occasional weekends, holidays and overtime as needed
Strong written and verbal communication skills are critical
Qualifications:
High School Diploma / GED. Brewing, Engineering, or other related education preferred
21 years of age
Minimum of 2 years experience in a commercial brewing environment.
