Almanac Mechanic & Brewer
Hours: Full time
Pay: TBD. Based on experience. This is a salaried position.
Reports to: Head Brewer

Almanac Beer Co is hiring a Mechanic & Brewer to oversee the installation, maintenance and repair of all production equipment and support machinery. This person will be responsible for the planned maintenance of production equipment, including pumps, boilers, packaging equipment, HVAC, etc. This is a unique position with ~50% of the time spent on mechanic responsibilities and ~50% in brewing production. A unique opportunity for an industry veteran who would like a chance on the brew-deck. This position requires the flexibility to assist where needed.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Preventative Maintenance: Manage the preventative maintenance of all brewery equipment. Bottling lines, boilers, water treatment, etc.
Equipment Installation: Oversee, with head brewer, the installation of all equipment. If needed, work with outside contractors.
Repair/Fabrication: Ability to fabricate, weld, manipulate, and fix whatever we throw at you. You should have the confidence to take apart and put back together anything in the brewery. You should also have the wisdom to know when to ask for help.
Brewing: You get to brew! Wort production, fresh & sour cellar operations, and assisting with packaging as needed.
Record Keeping: Detailed records of all maintenance performed. Detailed scheduling of preventive maintenance and upkeep.
Skill Requirements:
3-5 years experience, and/or college education or trade equivalent. This is a senior level position, come at us with the skillset to match!

Ability to effectively communicate with staff throughout the organization.
Physical strength and agility necessary with ability to lift 100 lbs repeatedly
Strong computer skills
Have a passion for making great beer
Love of fancy coffee a plus.
