Brewer – Airways Brewing – Kent, Washington
Airways Brewing is seeking a Brewer for our Kent, WA brewery. We’re looking for a passionate hard working person who’s interested in furthering their brewing career. The Brewer will be responsible for post-fermentation processes, including kegging beer, cleaning kegs, cleaning tanks, and general brewery maintenance. This Brewer position will not immediately include wort production, but as the company grows so will the role of the Brewer. An ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and must work well with the brew crew team. Professional brewing experience is not required for this position; however a comprehensive knowledge of the brewing process is necessary. This position has the opportunity to lead to advancement within the brewery and increase in compensation and hours. Job Duties:
• Coordinate and execute cellar activities
• Conduct regular CIP and sanitation procedures
• Upkeep a clean keg backstock for continuous production
• Communicates effectively with the Head Brewer and Operations Director to ensure proper information dissimilation
• Works any necessary packaging of product
• May be required to perform local deliveries and pickups
• Maintains a safe and clean work environment at all times
• Provides excellent guest service and internal customer service to promote successful operation
• Promotes a positive work environment and solution oriented mentality at all times
• May be required to work some weekends or evenings, including events
Qualification & Education Requirements:
• Fundamental knowledge of the brewing process, including wort production, fermentation, chemical dilution, kegging practices, and tap dispensing
• Strong work ethic is required
• Ability to help in other areas of production
• Proficiency in math and chemistry
• Ability to multitask is required
• Strong time management abilities
• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Strong initiative and integrity
• Must have a positive can-do attitude and work well in a team environment
• Must be able to lift and move 50lbs and occasionally team lift up to 160 lbs
• Ability to stand on one’s feet for extended periods of time
• Excellent communication skills
• A High School Degree or equivalent is required
• Secondary Education is preferred
• A certification in craft brewing is a huge positive
• Must have a clean driving record
• Must be able to work in hot, cold, damp and loud environments
• Must be able to use and wear PPE and other safety equipment
• Must be able to use safely use hazardous chemicals
• Craft brewing experience is preferred
• A passion for craft beer is required
• Must be able to operate a forklift, on the job training will be provided
