ESSENTIAL DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
* A minimum of 3 years of professional experience brewing on a commercial system (Experience or working knowledge of 25bbl or larger brewhouse is preferred)
* Formal brewery education with strong mechanical ability is required
* Learn and adhere to standard operating and safety procedures in wort production, vessel cleaning and sanitation, yeast handling, fermentation and maturation, sample collecting and filtration operations
*All aspects of brewhouse operation and wort production
*Organized, detail-oriented and attentive to quality and standards
*Flexible, accommodating, confident, team-oriented and self-reliant
* Must be able & willing to work morning, midday, overnight and/or weekend shifts
*Must be able to endure long hours on feet
* Must work safely in an industrial setting
*Must be in good physical condition and able to maneuver in confined spaces
* Able to lift 55 lbs. and move at least 155 lbs., and work in extreme hot, cold and wet environments
* Excellent time management, prioritization, and task scheduling skills
*An understanding of quality assurance (QA) methods and techniques, laboratory operations, and basic knowledge of chemistry and biology
*Prior packaging (i,e kegging, bottling and canning) experience
*Forklift operation or certification
*Communicate with staff to ensure safety, quality and efficiency
* Complete, enter and maintain daily brewhouse and cellar records, Obeer experience a plus.
COAST has been a small, quality driven brewery since 2007. We expanded to a 30 bbl brewhouse in the fall of 2014 and are beginning the addition of our taproom (with 7bbl brewpub- separate from production). We keep a tight-knit crew but are ready to bring in a new talented and like-minded brewer. Located in North Charleston, South Carolina.
