E.J. Phair Brewing Company in Pittsburg, CA is looking for a head brewer. We have been in operation since 2000 producing fine ales and lagers. Our production facility has a restaurant attached and we have a satellite restaurant in Concord, CA with plans to open a third location in Alamo, CA.
Duties include:
Scheduling and managing day to day operations
Scheduling and coordinating with contract brewing clientele, mobile canning services, and farmers
Performing brewing operations duties (wort production, cellaring, and packaging)
Working with Management and Sales Team on beer releases and events
Developing and scaling recipes to be put into production on a 30bbl brewhouse
Ordering ingredients, chemicals, etc.
Working festivals as needed
The ideal candidate will be a leader committed to safety and quality. E.J. Phair Brewing Company is dedicated to constantly improving beer quality and promoting horizontal collaboration amongst brewing staff. To succeed in this position the candidate must be organized and possess a keen attention to detail. Certificate of education in brewing science is a plus.
Requirements:
2 to 3 years of experience as a brewer
Ability to lift 55lbs
Ability to work in cold and warm conditions
Ability to lead and manage a production team of two
Ability to work safely in an industrial facility
Ability to operate a forklift safely
Proficient in Microsoft Word/Excel
