Job Description: Brewer Assistant or Brewhouse Operator
This is for a full-time position in the Oskar Blues Brewhouse. Due to this being an entry level position, we are currently only considering candidates that live within an hour of Longmont, CO.
Duties:
o Milling grain
o Staging grain bags
o Weighing and staging of hop additions
o Mill room cleaning
o Operating a 50BBL brewhouse
o CIP of brewhouse vessels
o CIP/SIP of heat exchanger and wort lines
o Other brewhouse cleaning as needed (scrubbing floors, tanks, process piping, etc.)
o Basic brewhouse maintenance
• Greasing of various brewhouse equipment
• Augers/auger motors
• Rake drive/lift
• Mill bearings
• Valve seat replacement
o After the basic tasks are mastered duties will include monitoring of various brewhouse processes including but not limited to: mash-in, mash-out, wort transfer, gravity checks, pH testing, wort stability sample-taking, knockout and oxygenation.
• Requirements
o PASSION FOR BEER!
o Must be able to lift 55 pounds above shoulders.
o Full physical capability to assist in above duties.
o Strong work ethic and communication skills .
o Must have reliable transportation to work.
o Full availability to work (any day of the week, any time of day).
Longmont is located about 30 minutes north of Denver and 15 minutes northeast of Boulder, CO.
