Flytrap Brewing is a 3 bbl brewery located in downtown Wilmington, NC, currently selling all beer produced on site in our taproom. The Wilmington craft beer scene has been growing at a rapid pace, and that trend looks as though it will continue for years to come. Flytrap is also growing and looking for highly qualified individuals to grow with our brewery. We are currently seeking a motivated, passionate, and energetic person to assist with all areas of beer production. This is a full-time (40+ hours/wk) position with varied hours throughout the week and the potential for some evenings, weekends, and overtime. Our ideal start date is April 1st, 2018. Pay will be hourly and based on experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Clean and service draft lines and draft equipment.
- Clean and maintain keg inventory.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the brew floor and storage facility.
- Perform CIP and regular maintenance on equipment and tanks in the brewery.
- Assist brew team with various activities to produce beer following all recipes and standard operating procedures.
- Work with chemicals, pumps, contents under pressure, hot and cold substances and surfaces, and other various hazards in a safe and professional manner while following standard operating procedures and product specifications.
- Conduct quality control and quality assurance activities as directed.
- Continue to learn about craft beer, the industry, and the brewing process.
- Communicate openly and effectively with brewing staff and front of house.
- Continue to expand sensory capabilities and develop your palate.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Experience with the brewing process and the production of beer.
- Have and demonstrate comfort with craft beer and beer styles.
- Be a fast learner with the ability to retain information and details.
- Be able to lift up to 55 pounds regularly and work in cramped, tight spaces.
- Have knowledge of draft equipment and maintenance.
- Have a creative mind and bring energy to brewers meetings in which we develop beer concepts, work on recipe formulation and tighten up our process.
- Be thorough, diligent, and clean with attention to detail.
- Must be at least 21 years of age, honest, work well with others, and help to foster a positive environment.
