    About Block Party Brewing Company:
    Launched from the foundation of the successful, three year old Block Party modern beer garden in Los Angeles’ Highland Park, Block Party Brewing Company is an expansion from our heritage of serving quality beers, to brewing amazing beers rooted in Southern California styles. Opening in August of 2018 and located in the heart of the West Adams neighborhood (one of the most desirable developing real estate markets in Los Angeles), Block Party boasts a brand new 10 BBL brewhouse in a 2500 square foot interior space, and a 5,000 square foot outdoor beer garden with a terrace and city views. Block Party Brewing Company aims to maintain a production capacity of 2000bbls a year, servicing both Block Party locations as well as can and draft distribution. Along with flagship beers and seasonal selections, multiple beers will be used as the basis for an extensive beer cocktail program. Block Party Brewing seeks adventurous, quality focused brewers looking to set new school beer trends and make unparalleled beer in a truly unique brewery destination experience.

    Job Description:
    The Head Brewer will be working with the Block Party Brewing Team to produce high quality beer. The main responsibilities of the Head Brewer are to produce and manage wort from grain to glass. The Head Brewer will be involved in developing/refining the Block Party opening recipes in tandem with the team. The Head Brewer will report directly to the ownership of Block Party Brewing Company and work in tandem with the ownership team to perpetuate a positive work culture. Other tasks involved in the position involve lifting, moving, pulling, pushing and tapping 35lb+ cases of bottles and cans, moving full kegs onto and off of pallets, driving a forklift, climbing ladders, working with chemicals, and working in a safety driven team environment. Members of the Production team should have a positive attitude and keep an immaculately clean work space. Production Team members should expect between 35-55 hours of work per week. Full time employees are eligible for benefits including health insurance, and paid vacation following a probationary period.

    Duties and Responsibilities:
    Managing the entire production team
    Managing brewery related paperwork and production forecasting
    Meeting with Block Party Brewing Company’s Ownership and Management team to develop and maintain acceptable level of inventories of all raw materials and finished goods
    Developing and Maintaining SOPs in all aspects of production
    Wort production on a 10 BBl Brewhouse
    CIP and COP of fermentation vessels and brewhouse
    Yeast handling
    Transferring beer from fermentation to bright beer tanks
    Assisting all Production Team members in all aspects of their role
    Participate in Team Meetings
    Adhere to all safety protocols

    Required Minimum Qualifications:
    Be at least 21 years of age
    High School Degree
    Four or more years brewing at a similarly sized craft brewery
    Valid driver’s license with no restrictions
    Able to lift 35lbs; able to move 55lbs using tools such as a hand truck or a forklift.
    Able to stand and work for up to 12 hours at a time


    Desired Qualifications:
    Five or more years brewing at a similarly sized brewery
    Forklift certifications and aptitude
