We are currently looking for a head brewer at Turtle Lake Brewing Co. We are a new 4-barrel craft brew pub located in a scenic view between two lakes in Hanoi Vietnam. We have six 4 bbl fermenters, Two 4bbl brite/serving tanks, and 20 tap handles. You will be in charge of day to day operations; working hand and hand with the brewery owner. We currently have 4 “core beers” and 3 rotating seasonals. There is plenty of room for some creative brews to fill our taps and new additions to our core beers.
Turtle Lake will provide the finest Craft Beer available in Vietnam with the intent to expand into distribution. We are looking for the right person to help us grow efficiently while maintaining a positive and fulfilling work environment, someone with good work ethic and who comes into work every day with a smile. The head brewer will be in charge of the following;
Responsible for all aspects of brewery operations from grain to glass
Performing quality control checks and analyses of beer components at various stages of brewing;
Maintain Quality Control, Quality Analysis, clean and safe brewery practice
Maintaining vendor relationships; Manage and control inventory for ingredients, supplies and packaging
Co-manage distribution contracts, supervise beer storage, loading, delivery, and adherence to delivery schedules
Oversee future bottling/canning processes and distribution
Manage aspects of taproom and oversee tap procedures and tap line maintenance
Build Local presence for festivals and beer related events
Giving brewery tours
Stay up to date on current craft brew trends
Oversee brewery maintenance, train staff on all aspects of maintenance.
Train and manage local brewers, tasting room staff, and management on brewery operations, and responsibility for staff skill development.
Utilize local and seasonal ingredients to produce fun and interesting beers that we can showcase in our tasting room.
Working with a team that may have a limited amount of English.
We do require;
4+ years brewery experience
Some formal education related to brewing/fermentation sciences
Ability to work in hot and cold environments
Ability to lift heavy objects
Good people skills for brewery tours and events
