Cavok Brewing Company is an established and growing craft brewing company located in Southeastern New-Brunswick (Dieppe, NB), a quick 15 minute drive from the closest beach! We have an amazing food scene, access to the great outdoors with 2 National Parks less than an hour away, and an exciting craft beer scene that is just beginning to blossom.

Our goal is to start production in our shiny new facility in July, 2018. We will have a 15 bbl DME brewhouse with all the bells and whistles. Our mission is to provide the customer with a world-class beer, our employees with a motivating workplace, and the community with considerate neighbours who genuinely care. We have an existing management and sales team that has focused on product sales, customer engagement and marketing of our brewery.

All that is needed to complete this masterpiece is YOU! Are you: a creative and dedicated Head Brewer? Are you able to begin work in Dieppe, NB by June 1, 2018? Are you: experienced, mechanically inclined and a motivated individual with a passion for producing exceptional craft beer? If you said “yes” to any of these statements, we want you!

The focus of the role as the Head Brewer is to ensure the highest standards of quality and consistency, from grain to glass. The Head Brewer will be a hands-on position looking after all aspects of our manufacturing operations including brewing, cleaning, production scheduling, inventory management, equipment repairs/maintenance, packaging, quality control and health and safety monitoring.
Duties and responsibilities.

The list is by no means definitive but includes:

● All aspects of a brew day
● All aspects of a packaging run (whether kegged or canned)
● Ensure brewing and packaging targets are met
● Operate brewing equipment and related control systems
● Ensure safety and quality standards are maintained
● Inventory management
● Cost control through minimizing waste and proactive management
● Develop and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (S.O.P.s) for all aspect of the brewery
● Maintain a flexible schedule, recognizing that the yeast does not sleep
● Prepare monthly production, inventory, and quality assurance reports
● Continuously work to improve our beer quality and operational efficiency

Job Requirements

● Completion of post-secondary schooling in a brewing or related field (ex: Microbiology); able to provide a copy of a brewing certificate (related job experience will also be considered)
● A minimum of 1 years of experience brewing (10bbl or above) particularly in relation to the duties and responsibilities listed
● Experience in recipe formulation
● Experience in packaging, both kegging and canning
● A thorough understanding of QC procedures, including experience in sensory analysis
● Experience in developing and scaling beer recipes
● Basic laboratory skills including a good understanding of chemistry, biology and yeast metabolism, and bacterial infection and fermentation
● Mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot and repair brewery equipment
● Ability to follow S.O.P.s while ensuring accurate documentation
● Ability to multitask and work a flexible schedule
● An individual that is bilingual would be an asset but not a requirement
● Barrel aging experience an asset


Job Type

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $40,000.00 to $55,000.00 /year
