Thorn Brewing Company is seeking an assistant brewer/cellarman for its Barrio Logan Production Facility team at 1745 National Avenue in San Diego California. The successful applicant will perform brewery duties including but not necessarily limited to:
Cleaning of brewery fermenters and Brite tanks
Washing kegs
Transfer of beers, sometimes using various Filtration methods
Assisting head brewer on brew days, graining out, cleaning up, etc.
Harvest and management of yeast
Dry Hopping and Fining Beer
Helping on the canning line, both packing off and occasionally operating
General cleaning and brewery maintenance
All applicants should have a minimum of 6 months experience on the production side in the brewing industry. All applicants must be at least 21 years old and possess a valid Class C drivers license. Experience operating a forklift is preferred but training/certification will be provided if needed.
Applicants will need to have a flexible schedule, including working evenings and weekends when required. You will report directly to the head brewer.
Financial compensation will depend on experience of the successful candidate, but will be competitive in the industry. We also offer a competitive benefits package for full time employees including a medical plan and paid vacation time.
