Lakes & Legends Brewing Company (www.lakesandlegends.com) is looking for a Head Brewer to join our team in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The brewery has been open 2 ½ years, with a lively taproom as well as a growing distribution business (kegs and cans). We’re a tight and collaborative team, and we’re looking to bring in someone to join that as a core member as we continue to grow. We currently focus on core year-round beers, while also offering monthly specialties. We’re looking to expand our barrel, infusion, and kettle sour programs.
Duties to include (but not limited to):
• Recipe formulation
• Ingredient sourcing and ordering
• Wort production and cellaring duties
• Inventory management
• Quality Assurance/Quality Control
• Packaging
• Production planning/scheduling
• Aide in expansions efforts as brewery continues to grow
The ideal candidate will have:
• Strong collaborative nature and a positive, can-do attitude
• 2+ years of commercial brewing experience
• Strong mechanical skills
• Yeast Handling proficiency
• Production planning/scheduling experience
• QA/QC knowledge
• Packaging experience
• Excellent communication and organizational standards
• A strong work ethic
• Appreciation of fine beer
• Enjoyment of interacting with the consumer
• Experience with Ekos a plus
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc)
• Be able to comfortably lift 55lbs
• Be able to manipulate / move 170lbs
• Experience brewing between 2,000 – 5,000 barrels / year
This position reports directly to our Owners. Salary commensurate to experience.
