    Twin Barns Brewing Company

    Twin Barns Brewing Company is a fully funded start-up brewery in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire in Meredith. We are currently in our due diligence period on our property with an October closing date. Ideally located just one mile from the town docks of Meredith Village, Twin Barns Brewing will be situated at the intersection of Rt104 and Rt 3 where 17,000 cars pass by everyday. Located in a barn that was constructed in 1850, and situated within a few miles of both Meredith and Laconia, NH (largest towns in the Lakes Region). Twin Barns Brewing will also have a small restaurant concept with simple, fresh and local meals.

    This is a full-time salaried position, with metrics for bonus potential. Base percentage of ownership of the brewery is available with increased ownership potential with capital investment. Responsible for all areas of beer production and operations of the brewery. As we are in the final phases of start-up, the Head Brewer will have an integral role in final selection of equipment and set-up.


    Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Competently operates brewhouse equipment to process brews and create Twin Barns Brewing SOPs, including but not limited to the items below:
    Brewhouse Operations : Milling, Mashing, Lautering, Boiling, Whirlpooling, Knockout, Grains out (with yeast), Brewhouse vessel CIP (include Heat Exchanger and Hot Liquor Heat Exchanger)
    Cellar-Related Operations : Fermenter CIP/Scrub/Sanitation, Cell Counting, Checking Gravities/Monitoring fermentation (including Glycol Controls), Capping/Chilling/Dryhopping schedule and procedures, Yeast Disposal (Grains out), BBT Cleaning and Sanitizing, Recording fermentations, Reading BBT levels and recording, Checking DO and CO2 in beer

    Packaging Operations: Carbonation of beer, Filtering, Cleaning firkins and Casking beer into firkins, Checking CO2 in beer

    Quality Assurance Operations: Cell Counts, Pitch Rates, Gravity Measurements, DO Measurements, Process Sampling, Yeast Viability Measurement, Taste Panel

    Other: Effluent processing as it relates to the above operations, cleaning and organizing standards, Daily record of activities accurately and legibly recorded.

    Required Experience:

    Education/Experience
    •Four year degree, preferably in Fermentation Sciences, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related area.
    •Brewing Diploma is a plus
    •Ability to work independently, unsupervised long and irregular hours
    •A minimum of 5 years’ experience creating and brewing at least ten styles of beer
    •A minimum of 3 years’ experience in managing a brewery
    •Experience creating and updating Standard Operating Procedures
    •Experience installing, configuring, and testing new brewhouse, tanks, and fermenters
    •Experience brewing on a 10 bbl.+ system

    Physical Demands
    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk: climb; use hands to finger, handle or feel: reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, and hear. The employee must regularly lift more than 60 pounds multiple times a day. Ability to move or helping to move up to 170 pounds on occasion. Specific abilities in this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, as well as depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

    Work Environment
    The work environment characteristics here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to a damp environment with hot liquids, airborne particles, chemicals and moving machinery. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
