Position: Brewer, full time
Wage: DOE
Reports to: Head Brewer
About Rainy Daze Brewing Company:
Rainy Daze Brewing Co. has been dazing the Kitsap Peninsula with our award winning
brews for the past 5 years. We are a small brewery and taproom located in Poulsbo, WA operating off a 7.5bbl system. We are dedicated to the quality of our product and brewing exceptional beer. The ideal candidate for this position is someone with a positive attitude, experience working with all facets of brewery production, and passion for the craft beer industry.
Responsibilities include:
Wort production and brewhouse cleaning
Fermentation management and Cellar duties
Raw material management, incl. yeast handling
Racking and conditioning beer
Packaging kegged beer and cooperage management
Cleaning, sanitation and maintenance of all brewery equipment, incl. brewhouse, fermentation vessels, and brite tanks
Assisting in quality assurance and quality control
Participation in events on and off property, Brew dinners, tastings, tours, events etc.
Ability to operate a forklift and other mechanical equipment
Daily recording of brewing/fermentation data
Skills/Experience:
4+ years experience of brewery production
Communication and organizational skills
Attention to detail
Strong technical background
A strong work-ethic that includes the ability to address problems creatively, independently, and with intuition.
Knowledgeable in malt milling, brewhouse operation, wort transfers, yeast pitching, monitoring fermentation, cellaring, and CIP/SIP procedures.
Clear understanding of air and gas systems, including beer tap systems
Strong leadership and customer service skills
Job Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Associate’s Degree, a plus
Strict adherence to a high standard of safety
Solid mechanical skills
Basic computer skills
Ability to read reports, instructions, and procedures
Physical requirements of the job:
Ability to lift objects and move objects up to 150 lbs
Ability to push/pull weights up to 76 lbs. across 100 feet, and maintain the grip strength required to carry objects including cases and empty kegs (31.5 lbs.).
Ability to climb, stoop, crawl, twist, squat and reach overhead.
The position requires frequent, constant standing and walking.
