Cellarman / Assistant Brewer Needed for Castle Rock, CO Brewpub
Wild Blue Yonder Brewing Company in Castle Rock, CO is in search of a cellarman / assistant brewer. We are a 5 barrel brewpub with a brand new shiny Alpha brewhouse and cellar as well as a lot other great new toys. We are in our first month of operation and have been very well received by the Castle Rock community. We are looking for someone passionate and knowledgeable about brewing and beer culture who is anal about quality and cleanliness with a desire to learn more and help us continuously improve and innovate. This job will start at ~32/hours a week with an opportunity to pick up serving or bartending shifts in the front of house if desired.
Duties Will Include:
- CIP/SIP of tanks and brewhouse vessels
- Carbonating beer to specification
- Cleaning and filling kegs
- Performing transfers, yeast harvests/dumps, dry hopping
- Performing daily fermentation tracking
- Educating brewpub staff on our beer
- Promoting our brand through customer engagement both at the pub and at beer festivals
Qualifications:
- 1 year or more professional brewing experience and/or completion of a brewing training program greatly preferred
- Able to work 8 - 10 hours per shift with open availability throughout the week
- Must be physically fit and able to continuously lift 55 lb grain bags, manipulate 125 lb kegs and be on your feet for hours at a time
- Mechanical aptitude and the ability to solve problems
- Ability to keep accurate and detailed records on cellar and brewing processes
- Ability to follow SOPs and protocols
- Ability to work safely around high pressure and dangerous chemicals
- A good sense of humor
- Pride in your work and a desire to be creative and make awesome beer
