    The Christian Moerlein Brewing Co. of Cincinnati, Ohio is seeking a brewer for our production brewery. Candidates should be an individual with unsurpassed passion for brewing, a love for brewing history, and a grand appreciation and knowledge of the finer beers in the world.

    Christian Moerlein Brewing Company is a growing small independent craft brewery located in Cincinnati, Ohio’s historic Over-the-Rhine Brewery District. We are also proud owners of Hudepohl-Schoenling Brewing Co. and their portfolio of retro-American beer brands and are affiliated with the world-class Moerlein Lager House Restaurant and Brewery, located on the banks of the Ohio River in Cincinnati’s Riverfront Park. Our uniqueness stems from our deep brewing roots, as we are steeped in tradition as the first American craft brewery to promote a full line of traditional retro-American beer brands as well as pushing the envelope of our craft creating fresh, flavorful, delicious Lagers and Ales for passionate beer lovers.
    This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced, self-motivated brewer in search of a creative, collaborative, and friendly environment. We use a team approach so the duties will include, but not be limited to:

    • Wort Production/ Brewhouse operations – milling, mashing, lautering, boiling, whirlpooling, knockout, grain out, brewhouse vessel CIP.
    • May need to assist in cellar department – fermentation tank CIP, yeast harvesting, filtering, checking gravities, etc.
    • May need to assist on the packaging line at times.
    • Extensive accountability and inventory documentation and maintenance of accurate records.
    • Maintaining a clean and efficient brewing operation.
    • Loading and unloading trucks.
    • Performing preventative maintenance and housekeeping on equipment and facility.

    Ideal skills for applicants include:

    • Honesty, sincerity, and a great work ethic
    • Can demonstrate a successful track record working as a brewer
    • Understanding of quality control concepts and procedures
    • Ability to operate forklift.
    • Can lift 55 pounds at a time.
    • Mechanical aptitude.
    • Attention to detail, ability to work unsupervised while maintaining safety and quality
    standards, and confidence to speak up and act when safety and quality are compromised.
    • Comfort with multitasking and maintaining efficiency and productivity
    • Good communication skills and ability to interact with the public
    • Schedule flexibility
