We are Brass Foundry Brewing Co. and we are currently looking for a Lead Brewer to add to our Production Team. The position would
be responsible for all aspects of the brewing process - including but not limited to recipe
development, brewhouse operations, cellaring, packaging, yeast management, QA/QC and
various sanitation practices. Looking for someone who has a passion for brewing, is a leader,
problem solver, takes pride in their work and pays attention to detail. This is a hands on position
which involves producing the highest quality beer possible.
Location: Long Lake, MN
Compensation: $38,000-42,500 per year, competitive health insurance, 3 weeks PTO
Brewhouse Duties:
Grain handling, milling and disposal
Mash-in
Vorlauf
Sparging
Boiling/Hop Additions
Whirlpool/Knockout
CIP Brewhouse Equipment: Mashtun/Lauter-Kettle/Whirlpool and Heat Exchanger
Keeping Paperwork for Brew
Boiler Blowdown
Parts Cleaning
Record Keeping
Maintenance and Cleaning
Cellar Duties:
Yeast Management- Cropping/Pitching/Dumping
Fermentation Tank CIP
Brite Tank CIP
Beer transfers
Carbonation/Carbonation Testing
Gravity Readings/Record Keeping
Dry Hopping
QA/QC Testing
Some Packaging Duties: (If needed)
Help on canning line or run canning line
Washing Kegs
Filling Kegs
This position would be overseeing operations of cellarman and packaging (when needed). This
position would report to Head Brewer.
Desired Skills:
3+ years of Production Brewing Experience
Lead Experience is desired but not required
Strong understanding of brewing process and cellaring process
Yeast Management
Ability to lift 55lbs+ repeatedly
Ability to stand on feet for extended periods of time
Strong work ethic
Ability to be apart of a team as well as be able to take direction by yourself
Organizational skills, multi-tasking and communication skills
