    Job Title: Lead Brewer
    FLSA Status: Exempt
    Reports To: Director of Brewing Operations


    General Summary:
    WeldWerks Brewing is a fast growing, locally owned and operated craft brewery in historic downtown Greeley, Colorado. We execute our unique and original product line with the highest quality ingredients, a state-of-the-art brewing system, and the newest brewing practices. Core to our ethos is delivering a high quality and consistent product, superior customer service, and putting a huge amount of love and trust in our co-workers.

    Our production team is responsible for producing the high quality beer on which we have built our reputation. We strive to be on the forefront of innovative styles and brewing techniques and rely on our production team to work with and support our head brewer in the development process of contemporary and innovative styles, as well as reproducing our core beers with consistency.

    The lead brewer will act as a member of the production crew, a technical expert, trainer and role model for the rest of the team. In addition to overseeing the daily production goals and tasks of the brewery, the lead brewer will act as a coach, leader, and mentor to the production team. We invest a lot of time, training and education in our leaders and we expect the leaders to do the same with their teams. The lead brewer is responsible for the professional growth of the team members through relationships, communication, trust and education.

    Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
    - Help to shape a culture with a strong focus on safety and compliance on the production floor
    - Lead the daily production floor operations necessary to maximize production and efficiency without compromising quality
    - Perform the duties of shift brewer as necessary to achieve production goals
    - Provide timely training, coaching and mentoring to all production employees
    - Maintain a positive, forward-looking and solutions-focused attitude
    - Build and maintain a highly autonomous, efficient, engaged and cohesive team
    - Act as the technical/practical brewing expert for daily operations
    - Work with the Director of Brewing Operations to efficiently enact the production schedule
    - Work collaboratively with the Barrel Program Manager to coordinate labor and tank time
    - Coordinate and perform reactive and preventive maintenance activities
    - Ensure that raw material and batch transactions are completed correctly and on time
    - Maintain accurate and complete recordkeeping of all batches
    - Seek out continuous improvement opportunities in all areas
    - Attend all company-wide and department-wide meetings and events and enforce the same expectation for team members
    - Leverage the talents of individuals to create and improve upon existing SOPs
    - Assist the Head Brewer with the creative process through idea generation and feedback
    - Perform in-process and post-packaging sensory evaluation
    - Assist with taproom operations as needed (releases, special considerations)

    Job Specification:
    Skill and Knowledge:
    - Excellent knowledge of and a passion for craft beer and the brewing industry
    - Excellent verbal and written communication
    - Excellent work ethic and can do attitude
    - Excellent interpersonal skills and teamwork

    Supervision:

    - Use company applications to communicate and update other employees

    Hours, Travel and Physical Requirements:
    - Work weekdays, weekends, early mornings and/or evenings
    - Work in a standing position for long periods of time
    - Request time off two weeks in advance
    - Ability to lift up to 120 lbs
    - Ability to work in heat, cold and wet
    - Physically able and willing to drive a forklift with training
    - Able to work from elevated surfaces
