Mainly responsible for assisting with brewing, with occasional cellar work and packaging in our Somerset, WI location. Currently, we’re on a 3bbl system but will be transitioning to a 7bbl in the near future. Other job specifics include tank CIP, yeast harvesting, dry hopping, brewhouse CIP, record keeping, grain handling, ordering & material processing. Job would typically be 30-40 hrs per week, M-F, with a possibility of a weekend here and there helping at a festival.
We’re looking for someone who is familiar with the brewing process. Professional experience is a plus but not required as long as you are willing to learn and continue to grow into the job. Must be comfortable lifting heavy stuff and being hot and wet, i.e. lifting 50lb grain sacks repeatedly, 165lb kegs occasionally, and comfortable in slippery conditions. It can be a fairly physically demanding job. A fair portion of the job also involves problem solving on the fly and critical thinking with regard to unexpected things that happen so experience troubleshooting on the job is a bonus. QC/Tasting is another significant aspect of the work. Must know or be willing to learn how to pick out and recognize different flavors in beer to determine if everything is up to our standards.
