Big Axe Brewing Company, located in Nisswa, MN is looking for help in our Brewery and restaurant. We are in need of help in several areas including assisting our brewing staff with an already busy brewing schedule. The Brewer/Brewer’s Assistant ideally has strong background in production brewery operations (packaging/canning experience a big plus) or willingness to learn and exceptional attention to detail. The brewer will assist our busy brewing staff in all aspects of brewing from cleaning, wort productions to carbonation and packaging. If you are brewing enthusiast looking to help expand a growing brewery in a beautiful destination, with a fun and exciting company, we want to hear from you! Will consider someone with extensive homebrew experience with solid foundation in science of brewing.
Note the exact role of this position is flexible and could also be part managerial/leadership in nature, depending on experience, skills and needs.
Requirements:
Able to safely lift 160 lbs
Able to stand for long periods of time
Homebrewing experience required, commercial experience preferred
Able to follow oral and written instructions.
Able to lift, bend, and move repetitively.
Commitment to quality and doing things right every time
Detail and process oriented a must.
High School Education
Responsibilities:
Independently produce wort on two-vessel brewhouse - responsible for all steps from grain infusion to yeast pitching.
Independently clean, sanitize and operate all equipment.
Ensure that all products meet required quality control points through proper technique and measurement.
Help with canning line
Transfer, carbonate and keg beer as needed
Operate canning machine
