    Job Description – Assistant Brewer/Cellar Operator
    Reports To: Head Brewer

    Description Summary:

    Rhombus Guys Brewing Company is a three-year-old brewery in downtown Grand Forks, North Dakota looking for help in the cellar, packaging, and brewhouse operations. The assistant brewer/cellar operator is responsible for all duties involved with brewery production including but not limited to; brewhouse operations, fermentation management, cellaring, packaging, and yeast management.

    Duties and Responsibilities:
    Cellaring
    -Raw Material Handling
    -Barreling
    -Keg Cleaning and filling
    -Canning
    -Cleaning
    -Brew House and Cellar CIP’s
    -Completing and maintaining proper documentation and record keeping
    -Attending/working events, both at the brewery and off-site, as needed
    -Assistance in quality control, inventory control, and material management
    -Help maintain a clean and organized brewery environment.
    -A number of other varied operational and brewery related tasks as necessary.

    Other Requirements:
    -Follow all SOPs and safety protocols.
    -Make observations of efficiencies and inefficiencies.
    -Make recommendations for equipment and processes verbally or an email.
    -Contribute to improvements and processes required to gain efficiency and quality assurance in the cellar department.
    -Contribute to the evolution of the brewery.
    -Complete special projects assigned by supervisors.
    -Continue working in cellar department to learn and improve the current cellar program.
    -Remain calm, flexible, and able to work through setbacks and emergencies.
    -Experienced in simultaneously coordinating a wide range of activities in a hectic and fast*paced work environment.
    -Able to work through challenges by setting a professional and upbeat example.
    -Writing and math skills necessary to accurately complete a dilution calculations, volume, flow, density, weight, length, pressure and other unit conversions, calculate beer volumes/losses, and alcohol content.
    -Communicate clearly with co*workers and managers, verbally and written.
    -Frequent problem solving.

    Physical Requirements:
    -Consistently lift and carry 25 pounds and occasionally lift and carry 70 pounds to chest height, and maneuver 150 pounds.
    -Frequent bending, stooping, pushing, lifting, kneeling and reaching.
    -Must be able to stand for the entire shift, up to 12 hours.-Consistently able to use repetitive hand and wrist motion.
    -Work with hot, cold and hazardous equipment and materials.
    -Climb stairs several times a day.
    -Work in a wet, cold, hot, and noisy area

    Must be able to work outside of regular business hours which may include occasional nights and weekends.
