The Brewer is a key production position that supports all tasks related to brewery processes and operations. Prepares materials/ingredients for each brew cycle in accordance to company recipes. The Brewer is responsible for running all Clean-in-Place (CIP) cycles for the brewhouse in addition to performing scheduled sanitation and maintenance of other brewery equipment. Plays an integral role in maintaining production efficiency, safety procedures and quality standards.
Essential Functions
Brewery Production
•Operate a 10BBL brewhouse to produce product on schedule and to company recipe.
•Assemble all materials/ingredients necessary for each day’s brew cycle.
•Maintain production logs, inventory reports, packaging logs and other written documentation (Times, Strike/Mash Temp., pH readings, total volumes, etc.)
•Harvest yeast into brinks for re-pitching while properly disposing of excess.
•Assist with inventory management and ordering of raw materials and brewery supplies.
•Safely load and unload trucks of raw materials and finished product
•Participate in brewery promotions and beer education events as needed
•Assist with TTB reporting and record keeping.
•Assist with cellar operations as needed
Safety/Sanitation/Maintenance
•Ensure staff use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when operating equipment or working on the cellar floor.
•Adhere to company provided training on hazard communication, chemical safety, dispensing and disposal.
•Comply with OSHA/MIOSHA standards and company provided safety training.
•Responsible for performing CIP and sanitization cycles of all production vessels/equipment according to standardized practices
•Travel to retail locations to CIP draft lines.
•Maintain brew house equipment as well as assist with overall facility cleanliness

Work Environment This job operates in a Brewery Production Environment. Most work tasks are performed indoors where temperatures are generally moderate and controlled by environmental systems; however, it may be necessary to perform tasks within walk in coolers or outside in varying temperatures. Frequently works with hot/cold contents and/or equipment.
Physical Demands
Able to stand and work on your feet, bend, lift and reach overhead for extended periods of time. Use hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials. Able to routinely lift up to 55 pounds.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position.
Days and hours of work may vary based on the needs of production. Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekend and night shifts as needed.
Travel
No overnight travel is expected for this position. May be required to travel to other company properties, retail outlets or events/festivals to support products and promotions within the region.
Required Education and Experience
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Brewing Certificate or Food Science Degree Preferred
Basic understanding of brewery production processes
Additional Qualifications
•Prior hands-on production experience within the industry preferred
•Experience with production forecasting and scheduling preferred
•Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize importance
