  • Early, early hops

My 12 little Fuggles are producing cones! This is way early-- like a month almost earlier ( actually 3 and half weeks) than any other hops have started. The Fuggles have been here for five years so they know the wicked fickleness of our weather. The Northern Brewer and the Centennial have burrs too. Is this a problem for production other than betraying expectations, making for some shorter plants, and moving up harvesting joy.

Granted the hops emerged way too early also and were frost pruned-- but that did not teach them a lesson. Is there anything I should do to slow the girls down or guarantee a good harvest with these precocious bines?
