    Great Falls Brewing Company opened its taproom doors in North Canaan, CT on December 15, 2018 in the beautiful Berkshire Mountains just a few miles from the Appalachian Trail. Our company has been making beers for the local market since July of 2018 and we have our sights set on catering to our own backyard as well as the region beyond.

    We’re looking to add a part to full-time assistant brewer to our team who is interested in advancing their skill set. You’ll be the second production employee with the company and work alongside the Head Brewer. A good fit will find room for growth with our new company as we expand to serve the local community.

    Our brewery is in the historic Canaan Union Depot, just beneath our cozy taproom which serves 12 varieties of our beer, 1 house made root beer and a guest cider. We offer a mix of classic styles and traditional British cask conditioned ale alongside market conscious sours and hazy IPAs.

    Job Prerequisites:
    • Brewing industry experience in brewing, packaging, quality assurance or cellar work is highly preferred. Entry level applicants with home brewing experience and a strong work ethic will be considered.
    • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
    • The ability to lift up to 170 lbs (a full keg) is required, as is the ability to repeatedly lift 55 lbs and perform repetitive motions like stooping, bending, lifting, twisting, and spending long periods on your feet.
    • A basic understanding of the process and scientific principles involved in brewing and the ability to apply that knowledge to practical applications
    • Attention to detail, cleanliness, and ability to multitask while maintaining a high standard of performance
    • A general thirst for knowledge and desire to innovate



    Qualities a Good Candidate Will Possess:
    Flexibility to work varied hours and long days when production levels increase as necessary
    Excellent mechanical aptitude, problem solving skills, and understanding of mechanical systems
    The ability to work independently
    A commitment to quality, safety, efficiency and consistency at all times
    Creativity and a passion for creating well-made, innovative beer
    Sociable attitude and ability to work well in a collaborative team environment

    Job Responsibilities
    • Execute any and all brewery operations tasks laid out by Head Brewer and/or Lead Brewer
    • Cleaning of kegs, draft lines, brewery equipment, and brewery facility
    • Perform basic cellar duties, such as clean-in-place of brite and fermentation vessels, packaging beer, and harvesting of yeast
    • Provide delivery assistance and support to sales department for external accounts
    • Assist with delivery of materials and retrieval of finished product from contract brewing partner
    • Operate industrial material handling equipment such as forklift, pallet jack, hydraulic scissor lift and pallet stacker in a safe and effective manner
    • Taking of daily cellar/fermentation log readings
    • Positively and professionally represent the brewery by giving tours, working beer festivals and special events at local accounts, including setup and breakdown of equipment
    • Assisting in preparing ingredients for brewing
    • Adherence to established SOP’s and proper record keeping
    • Lab, quality assurance and quality control responsibilities as laid out by management
    • Operating a 10 bbl brewhouse when knowledge base and experience is sufficient to do so



    Position will include liability insurance and paid time off after provisionary new hire period. Pay dependent on experience.
