-Brand New facility in beautiful Northern Michigan (town is on Lake Huron) in need of a brewer to start-up, run and produce our beer on our 7-Barrel System
-we are a full restaurant with a full liquor license, we have 16 taps (although one might be hard Cider and one our own Root Beer)
-This is a purpose built brewing facility incorporating efficient labor saving design and technology such as; undulated floors with trench drains and Protect-All Flooring
-System is all brand new equipment, all US built equipment, full brew system with 10-barrel HLT, (4) Fermenters, (1) Brite Tank, all pumps variable speed, variable speed rake/plow in the MLT (no paddling and semi-auto grain-out), feed auger with Grist Cage (no carrying of 55 lb sacks up a stair case), keg washer (compressor in a separated room!), keg lifter in the cooler to lift onto the shelves, keg cooler is attached to brewery (beer distribution to taps), instrumentation and measurement devices, nitrogen generator, bulk CO2, inventory management system with automated tracking, air-conditioning, and many “bonus” items to maximize quality and efficiency
-experience is required:
a) Must have a completed and deep understanding of all facets from GRAIN-TO-GLASS
b) Thorough understanding of safety, MUST preach, practice and live it with ZERO COMPROMISE!
c) Must be able to work with others and interface with the restaurant staff
d) Must understand brewery maintenance and what “thorough” cleaning is, must have EXCELLENT (not good) Sanitation Practices
-Must be able to do quality control and work with restaurant management for production scheduling
-Will be responsible for the development, maintaining, and documentation of all brewing related SOPs
-Maintain the brewery under all state and all federal compliance/guidelines
-Must have a complete Passion/Love for all things Beer!
-this is a full time position with competitive pay
-Looking for an individual with a strong brewing background and strong desire to showcase their skills and artisanship, must be passionate about problem solving and providing solutions, a strong liking for others, honesty, high moral character and integrity, want to learn and teach
Physical Demands
There are physical demands for this position and they are required for this job. Requires the lifting of some items up to 55 lbs and moving full kegs. Requires the ability to walk/stand and sustain physical activity for extended periods of time (hours). Requires at times high levels of movement with the ability to reach with arms, kneel, crouch, climb, balance, and squat. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
