Stone Corral Brewery is a young, fun, growing brewery and pub in Richmond, Vermont that’s looking for an Assistant Brewer/beverage craftsman. This individual must have a great attitude, be passionate about beer, infused seltzer and kombucha, be quality focused, safety driven, have high attention to detail. We are seeking an individual who has at least 2 years of professional experience, preferably in production brewing, laboratory science, food processing or related production environment where quality and cleanliness are paramount, and is looking for a position where daily variety of responsibilities, problem solving, and teamwork in a relaxed, professional atmosphere are part of the culture. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following:
• Excellent understanding of brewing process and cleaning procedures
• Love cleaning brewery equipment and surroundings
• Ability to follow existing recipes and brewing process to create consistent, quality beer, craft seltzer and kombucha from batch to batch
• Ability to troubleshoot problems and come up with great solutions
• Comfortable repairing mechanical and electronic equipment
• Able to work well in a team environment and work independently without supervision
• Assist on canning line
• Basic knowledge of proper chemical handling and brewery safety
• Personable, positive attitude, honest, reliable, responsible
• Must be neat and understand the necessity of organization and cleanliness in a brewery environment
• Have awesome communication skills
• Capable of working on different projects at the same time
• Must be willing to work some weekends and/or evenings as required
• Capable of lifting 55lbs grain bags and 44lbs boxes of hops
• Able to lift/move 85lbs kegs alone and 165lbs kegs with assistance
• Must be able to twist/turn, reach over shoulders, climb ladders, bend/stoop and stand/walk on a continual basis
• Work in a hot/cold, wet environment
• Minimum high school diploma required, brewing education or relevant college degree preferred
Position is open immediately. Schedule is 30 hours/week Monday-Friday (Some weekends will be required) with the exact schedule dependent on individual and brewery schedules. Candidates must have a flexible schedule for this position. Hours will increase for the right person as we grow.
