Denizens Brewing Company is opening a production facility and taproom in Riverdale Park, MD this May 2019. This completely new facility in Riverdale Park, MD holds a taproom and full-service kitchen backed by a brewery production facility. This facility houses a 30 BBL 3 vessel brewhouse, 60 BBL fermenters/brites, and packaging with a WGC 250 canning line. Our original Silver Spring, MD location will produce smaller batch seasonal beer to supplement our 20 tap bar, while Riverdale puts out the higher percentage of our annual production.
We are looking for a bright, detail oriented individual to join our team as Head Brewer of this new production facility. The Head Brewer will work with the Director of Brewing Operations to perform responsibilities listed below.
Responsibilities:
o Production schedule management of 4 core brands and about 2 seasonal beers per quarter in our first year for both taproom consumption and off premise sales
o Management of brewing, cellar, and packaging staff weekly schedule and performance
o Coordination of brewery staff availability with our Packaging/Lab Manager for packaging runs
o Coordination of beer inventory being allocated to Silver Spring taproom, Riverdale taproom, and distribution
o Oversight of preventative maintenance on all brewery specific equipment.
o Management of Riverdale packaged beer and raw material inventory for beer
o Troubleshoots all brewery equipment and production issues
o Development of and improvement upon standard operating procedures.
Requirements
o Experience managing a brewery staff
o Experience in a production/canning brewery for at least 5 years.
o Mechanical Aptitude
o Proficient in trouble shooting
o Must work and communicate well with all departments
Compensation
o Starting salary will depend on applicant’s experience
o Accrued paid time off in addition to 6 other paid holidays
