  • Wort Chiller for taking readings

Anyone have any ideas on where i can get some kind of water type chiller for my brewhouse platform for cooling down the 1st wort collections?

I have seen many types of these over the years and wonder what people are using. I will be taking delivery on our 20BBL DME system in about 4 weeks. If anyone has something they have built and don't use anymore, I would be interested in trading/buying it.

    Thanks
    Matthew

    Matthew,

We have one, it is a capped copper tube of roughly the same volume (a little bigger) of a sample jar/graduated cylinder and it sits submerged in a larger pvc tube, with a sink faucet feeding cold H2O through it. The copper tube has a SS chain on it for submersing into the kettle.

My refractometer (with Automatic Temperature Compensation) works just as well, and WAY faster. I think I paid $40 on eBay.
