  • Stupid question

Okay, where can a startup find hops?
    --Yes, I know...

    Thanks,
    Connie

Due to the unhoppy situation these days , we in the class of 2008 have our work cut out for us.

Email, call etc all of the standard suppliers.
Get in line ASAP and be persistent.

    -Hop Union
    -Yakima Chief
    -Hopsteiner
    -Brewer Supply Group

    *Make friends with nearby pro-brewer's.
    *PM our
    new freinds in Columbia
and let them know you are interested.
*Check in on these forums often for suppliers dumping available hops as they
    come up.
*Start studying up on low hop recipes or alternative bittering herbs.
** Travel to hop farms and request picking the left overs from the poles. Or
bales rejected by the majors (Hey
Bald eagles eat carion.) Im in Idaho so Im close to the source(s) But
depending on the response you get from the major suppliers it may be
a last ditch feather in your hat.

May the hops be with you and me....and everyone.......forever.

    weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!

...and call any and all 'non standard' suppliers.

A couple days after the $50/lb Cascade post shows up and somehow I'm able to find some 2007 crop for $28 per pound.

I'm beginning to believe there may be some little bit of truth to the conspiracy theories that are floating around out there...
