  • Experienced Lead Brewer Looking for Innovative Craft Brewery

Experienced lead brewer with brewing qualifications looking for a new position in a growing and innovative craft brewery, willing to relocate. I believe I have the skills needed to contribute to the growing success of your brewery and to make great beer.

I am a passionate and hardworking brewer and I believe my combination of brewing experience, relevant education and my knowledge of the beer industry would be of great benefit to a growing and innovative craft brewery. I have experience as a lead brewer in Europe plus experience working with various breweries around Asia. In addition to over 5 years professional brewing experience I have qualifications in brewing, engineering, food science technology and beer judging. This passion for great beer and brewing started with home brewing (which I learned from my grandfather who also worked in brewing) and has brought me to many places, attending beer events and finding the best local beer while looking for adventure.
What I can bring to your brewery:
    • With experience as a lead brewer and a consulting brewer I can integrate into a team and be competent on my own to carry out tasks with the highest level of attention to detail and quality.
    • The great foundation knowledge obtained from my education proves to be integral in operating within a brewery and understanding the principles of recipe development and beer production.
    • My keen eye for beer evaluation, flavor combinations, beer trends and innovative beers would be a great asset for a brewery looking to stay on the cutting edge of the ever evolving beer market.
    • A growing aspect of craft beer is mixed fermentation and barrel ageing, which is something I have always had an interest in from researching the best sour beer producers and barrel aged beers in the world to setting up a small scale sour/barrel program to working on an extensive existing sour/barrel program.
    • With a true passion for beer and the beer industry I always try to push the boundaries of beer and what beer can be, from creating unique beers to organising exciting collaborations to educating beer lovers at beer events and festivals.
I have attached my CV for more detailed information about my experience and skills. If you have any questions or need references feel free to contact me at

I appreciate your time and look forward to hearing from you,

    Shane Butterly.
