Moonrise Brewing Company in Palm Coast, Florida is seeking a Head Brewer.
About Moonrise Brewing:
Moonrise Brewing Company is a brew pub that has been open for three and a half years and is the first brewery in Flagler County. We are a brewery that is here for our community and strives for excellence. We love being involved in community events and hosting large events at our taproom. We have a full kitchen that allows us to have an additional layer of creativity for fun events. We brew on a 3.5 bbl system and have a lot of staple styles that we have perfected but love being innovative and experimenting with new styles and ingredients. We have a small staff and everyone works hard together, and we are looking to add someone with energy and bright ideas to our team!
About the position:
Successfully execute all aspects of production at Moonrise Brewing Co. per production needs as scheduled including raw materials handling and ordering, wort production, cellar movements, and beer finishing. Be able to work independently but to also contribute to a healthy team culture by maintaining positive attitude, professionalism and company vision.
Execute proper sampling and analysis of daily brews in accordance with schedule; Monitor vital wort indicators including but not limited to aroma and flavor, target gravity, pH, IBUs and fermentability.
Responsible for wort production on 3.5 BBL brewhouse (double brew days) including but not limited to raw material handling, mash/lauter operation, wort boiling, cooling, and BH CIP
Responsible for CIP and preparation of fermentation and brite beer tanks
Responsible for cleaning of heat exchanger and electric heating elements
Responsible for finished beer handling including but not limited to carbonation, walk in inventory and kegs to distribution
Responsible for proper handling of yeast propagation including but not limited to inoculation, pitching, topping, aeration and CIP
Maintain a clean and tidy work environment
Communicate clearly and accept communication from owners and management
Ensure that sensory evaluation is monitored responsibly, and results are communicated constructively
Maintain a sanitary environment, which includes but not limited to cleaning floors, walls, tanks and ceilings.
Participate in company events as needed while maintaining professional composure
Requirements:
Be mechanically adept.
Work on a ladder periodically.
Physically be able to bend over, twist, kneel, lift 55+ pounds, and repeatedly handle hot and cold liquids.
Able to stand for long periods of time.
Strictly follow recipes and standard operating procedures while recommending ways of improving them.
Willingness to work occasional weekends, holidays and overtime as needed.
Have strong written and verbal communication skills.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma / GED. Brewing, Engineering, or other related education preferred
Clean driving record
21 years of age, proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States
