    Big Woods Restaurant Group is hiring! A part of the BWQOHT, Inc. family (Big Woods Restaurants, Quaff ON! Brewing and Hard Truth Distilling Co.), Quaff On! Brewing Company offers a unique opportunity for the right qualified individual to serve as Cellarman at our Nashville, Indiana location.

    The Cellarman is responsible for work in the process to manufacture our Quaff On! brews. Do you know what a tri-clamp looks like? Better yet, can you demonstrate how to use a tri-clamp with one hand? If so, you might be who we need!

In 10 short years, we’ve expanded to multiple restaurant locations and added a large brewery and distilling company. Big Woods is dedicated to serving Indiana with the finest local brews, cocktails and midwestern comfort food.



    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • CIP (clean-in-place) and sanitizing of fermentation tanks, kegs, and other equipment

    • Cellaring duties including fermentation monitoring

    • Logging of all brewing related notes from brew day through fermentation, finishing, and packaging (Kegs) on paper logs and digital. Prior Ekos.

    • Following SOPs (standard operating procedures) in each phase of brewing, fermentation, transferring and packaging

    • Maintaining a clean and organized cellar and yeast storage

    • Cleaning and maintenance of cellar

    • Careful execution of treatments for specialty beers (dry hopping & fruit additions)

    • Assistance with Quality Assurance activities

    • Duties at the discretion of the Head Cellar Person and GM

    REQUIREMENTS

    • A strong passion for brewing and a desire to advance personal growth in the brewing industry

    • Strong organizational habits, a self-motivated work ethic, and good critical thinking/problem-solving skills

    • Some understanding of all aspects of brewing including cellaring, yeast handling, CIP, and sanitization

    • Flexibility in terms of hours and a willingness to work some late shifts, weekends, and overtime when needed

    • Computer literate with an understanding of Microsoft Office/spreadsheet programs

    • Ability to multi-task

    • Ability to work as part of a team

    • Prior cellaring, packaging, and kegging experience


    EXPERIENCE IN ANY OF THE FOLLOWING IS PREFERABLE

    • Ekos

    • Mechanical experience and aptitude

    • Forklift operation

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl

    • Heavy physical work including climbing stairs, lifting kegs, pulling hoses, etc.

    • Willing to work in wet, hot and cold conditions

    • Willing to work in consistently loud environments

    Job Type: Full-time
