Starting: March 1, 2023

Overview:

Responsible for advancing and securing sales in the market. Performs functions to secure new accounts, merchandise, and service the needs of the existing sales accounts. Works under the Business Development Section of The Matanuska Brewery. The position reports directly to the Business Development Officer. This position is the face of the brewery and is the ambassador of all things Matanuska.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of five years sales and marketing experience in the beverage distribution industry.
• Education: Four year college degree preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Hours: Duties will include working a week. Includes working some nights and weekends on promotional and other activities.
• Driving Ability: Must have a car for travel use, a current valid Alaska state driver’s license, and the ability to meet legal vehicle insurance requirements,
• Physical Requirements: Must be able to safely and properly lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must have current Alaska TAMs Certification.

Duties:

• Visits both on premise and off premise business throughout Alaska and develops long term relationships with our current and potential customer base with the intent to get our products into their facilities;
• Works closely with RNDC Distributors to build our brand utilizing their resources to the maximum extent possible;
• Develops a schedule and goals for Brewery participation in beer events across the State;
• Attends and participates in Matanuska sponsored events;
• Constantly seeks out new markets and potential new customers;
• Manages the Brewery social media and Website for content and builds our online community following;
• Has extensive knowledge of our products;
• Is or will obtain a Cicerone or equivalent certification;
• Is or will become educated on draft skills;
• Works closely with the Business Development Officer to create an annual marketing plan and goals;
• Works within a given budget;
• This position requires State wide travel;
• Submits monthly work plans;
• Submits weekly recaps of work completed;
• The company will supply a lap top computer to be used for business purposes;
• Attends weekly company meeting with Brewmaster and Business Development Officer;
• Attends weekly company board meetings via Zoom;
• Other Duties as Assigned.
• Shall maintain a professional appearance at all times.
