    Hop Valley Brewing Co. of Springfield, Oregon is looking for an Experienced Brewer to add to our brew team.

    Candidates Requirements:
    • Brewer must be adaptive, resourceful, and passionate about quality craft beer.
    • Two years of professional brewing experience.
    • Must have strong knowledge and background in production brewing and beer/fermentation science
    • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
    • Should have prior packaging, bottling and racking experience
    • Associates Degree in relevant science related field is desired
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office & Excel

    Candidates’ Job Responsibilities:
    • Work with and support Brewmaster, Trevor Howard
    • Work with, train, inspire and manage crew
    • Perform quality control and assurance testing
    • Pilot brewing and recipe development
    • Increase operational and brewing efficiencies
    • Independently brew batches and manage brewing operations, including but not limited to handling raw materials, operating the brewhouse, vessel CIP ( including heat exchanger), yeast management, cell counting, cellar work and other aspects of brewing and cellar work.
    • Operate complex machinery and a forklift
    • Public speaking skills are required to conduct tours, teach restaurant and sales staff and for events such as beer dinners, tasting and festivals.
    • Promotion of products outside of the brewery at festivals and other beer events is required.
    • Lift 55 lbs to shoulder height repeatedly and move up to 165lbs occasional
    • Stand for 8-10 hrs per day
    • Safety mindedness is of the upmost importance ( lifting chemicals, hot liquids and hardware, inhalation hazards, noise)
    • Willingness and ability to step in wherever needed.

    Compensation based on experience and qualifications.

    Hop Valley Brewing Co has been brewing award winning craft beers at our restaurant and brewery in Springfield, OR since 2009. The opening of our 30,000 sq ft production brewery (60 bbl brew system) and tasting room in Eugene, OR in January 2013 will allow us to significantly increase production.

    Our Brewing Team has been honored with numerous awards at World Beer Cup and the World Beer Championships.

    Production has been growing in the past 3 years; 2009-1073 bbls, 2010-1908 bbls, 2011-2304 bbls and we are on pace for 3600 bbls in 2012. Production is expected to reach 12,000 bbls in 2013 with the opening of the production brewery in Eugene, OR. We anticipate this trend will only continue and we are looking for individuals who want to be part of it.
