Burley Oak Brewing Company is growing and needs an assistant brewer
Burley Oak beers are distinctive, and the ideal candidate must not be interested in brewing boring beer. We are looking to increase weekly production as well as expand our barrel aging program. Brewing at Burley Oak is a hands on job which requires physical and mental skill. Passion for craft beer is also required. We are 10 minutes from the beach, so enthusiasm for the outdoors is welcome.
We are looking for a self-motivated and assistant brewer, with the qualifications below, to join our team and help us grow.
Education & Job Experience
A combination of professional experience and education are strongly desired.
High school diploma or GED is required
Bachelors Degree preferred
1-2 years of professional brewing experience or
completion of brewing education from an accredited school

Required Brewer Skills
Creative recipe development skills
Proficient knowledge and understanding of brewery equipment
Ability to troubleshoot and perform basic upkeep and maintenance of brewery equipment
Strong cleaning and sanitation skills of brewery equipment
Cellaring
Duties include (but not limited to)
Brewing distinctive and quality ales
Evaluate and monitor beer and raw materials involved in brewing
Operate brew equipment
Maintain cleanliness & sanitation of all equipment, tanks and work areas to maintain consistent beer quality
Maintain a safe brewing environment
Possess good beer knowledge and a good sense of smell, distinguishing flavors, and colors in beer
