    Do you love the magic of beer and do understand what is going on under the hood? Can you work independently and do you ask why we do things a certain way, not just how? Do you have a passion for quality and consistency in your beer and do you believe that we can make every beer a little better the next time?

    Fat Bottom Brewing is looking for an experienced Brewer to join our team and if you answered yes to all of the above, then you might be the right person to join us.

    Responsibilities:

    As a brewer, your will be responsible for:

    Milling and brewing, including on-the-fly corrections and demonstrated ability to safely operate our equipment.
    Cellar operations, including monitoring fermentation, racking and cleaning and maintenance of our tanks.
    Lab work, including cell counts, viability measurements, and calculating pitch rates.
    Packaging, both draft beer and operating our canning line.
    Rigorously following our existing protocols and improving them with the team where appropriate.

    Qualifications and Experience:

    We are looking for an experienced brewer.

    You must have:

    EITHER a technical or bachelors degree in Food Science, Fermentation Science, Microbiology or a related field OR 2+ years of experience in a professional brewery.
    The ability to lift and move 60+ pounds repeatedly, and to climb ladders and work on your feet for an extended period.
    The ability to follow our existing protocols and the wisdom to to criticize and improve them with our team.
    Relevant laboratory experience, either in a brewery or as part of your education.

    We would like you to have:

    Strong mechanical and maintenance skills (i.e., if you don't already know how to break down and clean a solenoid valve, you want to figure it out on your own)
    Experience driving a forklift.
    Good handwriting and the ability to complete legible paperwork.
    Good prose and technical writing skills and a desire to document everything.
    Sensory training and tasting panel experience.
    Compensation is based on your level of experience and will include free beer.
