JOB DESCRIPTION:
Hop Life Brewing Co is seeking candidates for the role of Head Brewer to join our
Brewery.
JOB SUMMARY:
As the Head Brewer, you will be responsible for beer production and overall
brewery operations for our 15-bbl. brewing system. We are looking for a self-motivated, energetic, and passionate individual to lead brewing operations. You will need to interact with other brewery staff, suppliers, and customers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Manage the brewing process and be able to run a full brew day.
Manage the day-to-day operations of the brewery with regards to brewing, kegging, cleaning, and canning.
Develop new recipes to meet the market demands and trends.
Record gravities, temperatures, and pH daily.
Ability to work well with other employees, breweries, public and media.
Manage maintenance and cleaning schedules
Maintain health and safety standards
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Position requires standing for long periods of time, bending, stooping, twisting, and lifting products and materials weighing up to 165 pounds.
Routine pushing, pulling, reaching, upper body and arm rotation, arm extension, and climbing ladders.
High noise levels in and around brewing area
Exposure to various temperature changes
Able to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (ear plugs, gloves, boots, etc.)
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum 2 years’ experience in the craft brewing industry
Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
Highly organized with keen attention to detail
Ability to manage and supervise staff
Focused problem-solver with the ability to stay calm and work under pressure and
Deadlines.
Comfortable with computers and technology
Cider making knowledge a plus ( willing to teach)
