Job: Shift Brewer
Place: Coralville, Iowa
Availability: Open (Mainly Early Mornings)
Status: FT Salary
Description: We are looking for a Full Time Shift Brewer to help in our production brewery. This position will be responsible for all brewing practices, day to day production, cleaning and maintenance of brewing equipment, record keeping, and any additional duties required by the head brewer.
Job Duties and Requirements:
- Brew and package beer according to brew schedule
- Cleanliness of the brewing facility
- Clean tanks, brewhouse and other equipment on a regular basis
- Assist head brewer with inventory management of raw materials
- Follow all procedures on chemicals
- Assist in cellar work when needed including filters and transfers
- Perform preventative maintenance on a weekly/monthly basis
- Monitor beer production and communicate any issues that arise to head brewer
- Troubleshoot when issues arise to keep production moving forward
- Must be a strong communicator and have administrative skills
- Detail oriented and able to follow instructions and procedures
- Ability to retain information and instructions
- Good understanding of quality assurance and beer product standards
- Ability to lift up to 75lbs and stand for extended periods of time
Additional Responsibilities and Requirements:
- Available for brewery tours, beer festivals and special brewery events
- Represent Backpocket Brewing appropriately in the public arena
- Flexible schedule that changes with production needs
- Availability to drive or learn forklift
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Any additional tasks requested by head brewer or production admin team
