    Hours: Full time



    Compensation: Hourly TBD based on experience. Benefits include medical, HSA, 401k, paid time off, and beer perks.



    Reports to: Lead Production Brewer



    Overview:



    Devil’s Canyon is seeking a production brewer to join our team at our production facility in San Carlos., CA. We work on a 45BBL custom brewhouse and cellar with 10,000+ barrel capacity. Our cellar consists of 20 vessels (12 fermenters and 8 brite tanks), with a barrel aging program in our secondary building. We are looking for someone with experience and unwavering commitment to quality and continuous improvement. This position requires the flexibility to assist where needed, and will provides many growth opportunities. Mechanical experience and aptitude or laboratory experience are very strong pluses.



    Duties & responsibilities:

    • Brewing: Produce wort on a 45BBL brewhouse following set recipes and SOPs, while accurately adjusting to meet all specified targets (gravity, pH, bitterness, etc.). Constantly looking for ways to improve current processes and increase efficiencies in the pursuit to always make the best beer possible.

    • Cellar Operations: Daily gravity checks, Yeast tracking and management, VDK sensory tests, dry hopping of applicable styles, CIP/SIP of fermentation and brite vessels, filtration through Velo DE filter.

    • Packaging operations: Assist in all packaging operations as needed including canning, bottling, and kegging. Experience with ABE canning line and Meheen bottling line a plus.

    • Warehouse organization and cleanliness: Organize brewery work areas and warehouse storage areas. Daily janitorial maintenance of warehouse including daily warehouse cleaning, sweeping, mopping and floor scrubber operation.

    • Record Keeping: Detailed records of all brew day operations and cellar work performed. Computer literacy is required.

    • Preventative Maintenance: Assist as needed with the preventative maintenance of all brewery equipment. Bottling lines, boilers, water treatment, etc.

    • Facilities Upkeep: Assist as needed with the general upkeep and improvement of the production facility as needed. This will include cleaning of facilities and basic maintenance/repair.

    Requirements:

    • 2 years experience, and/or college education or trade equivalent. This is not an entry level position.

    • Must be 21 years of age

    • Must possess a valid drivers license

    Bonus point skills:

    • Welding, plumbing, or commercial electrical knowledge

    • Forklift Certification

    Physical Requirements:

    • Able to stand for extended periods of time

    • Able to regularly twist, turn, lift supplies and equipment up to 55-lb (I.e., cases of beer, bags of malt)

    • Able to move 155-lb kegs of beer (using appropriate techniques and tools).

    • Able to work in a production environment where noise level is usually moderate to loud and temperature fluctuates according to the weather.

    • Ability to work a rotating schedule, including morning/mid/evening and occasional weekend shifts.
