Salty Turtle Beer Company is a veteran owned and operated brewery located in Surf City, NC (Topsail Island), which began in late 2017 and has quickly become a top attraction in Surf City, NC. We are a 7-bbl Brewhouse and growing at a rapid rate! We are looking for an Assistant Brewer and Head Cellar Operator to join our team! Location: Surf City, NC
Job Level: Experienced (1+ years)
Job Type: Full-Time, PTO, Healthcare
Job Hours: Monday-Friday, weekends and holidays if needed
Start Date: Available immediately!
Responsibilities:
Daily fermentation monitoring
CIP/SIP of fermentation vessels, kegs, casks, brinks and other related equipment
Accurate ingredient preparation and addition including dry hops, fruit, spices, finings etc.
according to recipes
Accurate and timely carbonation of beer prior to packaging
Trub/yeast/hop dumps according to operating procedures
Yeast management including pitch, harvest
Quality assurance including fermentation tracking, process sampling, cell counts and
taste approval
Daily general cleaning including sweeping, scrubbing, organizing, etc. We pride
ourselves on cleanliness!
Safe operation of fork lift and scissor lift
Adhering to all safety regulations at all times. No exceptions.
Packaging/Warehouse Operations:
Order fulfillment including preparation for shipping and receiving
Keg Filling
Assist can line operation
Assist pack-out team
Requirements:
Past Brewery experience is a plus
Strong mechanical and problem solving skills - working with gauges, valves, pumps, pallet jack, CO2.
Strong understanding of quality standards and health and safety regulations.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Ability to lift 50+ lbs and stand on feet for 8+ hours a day, twist/turn/reach over head and work in standing/walking/crouch positions and on a ladder all at a steady pace.
