Lone Eagle Brewing, located in beautiful, historic Flemington, New Jersey is seeking a head brewer. Our established and growing brewery is seeking a head brewer to take our brewery to the next level. We currently have a 2 vessel 10 BBL brew house with 100 BBL fermentation capacity with canning line and additional fermenters on the way. We have capacity to grow to 350 BBL fermentation capacity in our new expanded facility located directly next to our existing building.
We are looking for a motivated, self starting, organized individual that can continue to produce our award winning beers as well as create new and amazing craft beers. This position will also be responsible for working a full time assistant brewer, cellar person and rotating interns.
Responsibilities include ordering/managing raw ingredients, brewing, cellaring, packaging, and cleaning.
Head Brewer's responsibilities include, but not limited to:
> Comprehensive knowledge of brew process
> New recipe formulation
> Experience in yeast propagation
> Must be able to multi-task- manage ordering and receiving materials, production scheduling, brewing, etc
> Canning/Packaging experience
> Positive attitude and enjoy discussing brew process and various brews with consumers
> Proficient in spreadsheet development / tracking. Must keep very organized and accurate records of brew process
> Ability to accurately record inventory (raw materials, finished goods) and understand/monitor cost and control numbers
> Must have the utmost attention to detail and cleanliness
> Familiar Federal and State Excise Tax recording / reporting a plus
> Brewing degree preferred, but not required
> Experience with production volumes of 1,500+bbl / year
Requirements:
Minimum of 2 - 3+ years of comparable brewing experience in a craft brewery
Ability to lift heavy objects (60-70 lbs+) repeatedly and safely
Ability to stand for long periods of time
Must be able to work in a team environment
Flexibility with work hours and availability is a must
