  • Looking for a kick-ass Head Brewer!

A well-financed, commercial brewery located 50 minutes west of Boston is looking for a seasoned brewer with hands-on operational experience, ready to lead all aspects of a functioning brewery to recipe creation & execution of some ridiculously good beers.

We have a 10-barrel brew house already up and running and ready to go. We are investing in our new concept and taproom to create an exceptional consumer experience, which successfully draws the thirsty as well as the interesting to come to our space and enjoy our exceptional liquids.

We are looking for someone to help us deliver on something truly distinct, special.

    Qualifications:
Our Big Dog has worked their ass off for at least 5 years in a commercial brewery and over that time, taken on greater responsibility within the brewery. Today, brimming with confidence & brewing know-how, they are looking for brewing ship to steer on their own. They have opinions on where the craft segment is going, and what is required to get there. They are passionate and ready for a leadership position in a commercial brewery.

Our Big Kahuna also has the experience to have developed strong opinions on aspects such as equipment selection, optimal brewery design layout, lab requirements. They are a curious sort, one who brings unbridled creativity to recipe ideas and development, tethered by lots of experience and strong understanding of the science behind brewing.

More specifically, our Brewer Extraordinaire will have brewed on at least a 10 BBL system in full production brewery, has experience creating and brewing multiple styles of beer. They possess knowledge of all aspects of brewery operations as well as packaging. This person needs to understand barrel-aging, sours, yeast strains, hop varieties, grain varieties, grain roasts, etc.

This person should be unafraid to make mistakes, but understand how to apply their learnings to achieving beer excellence.

    People management experiences a plus.

    Awesomeness a must.

    Essential Functions / Responsibilities
We expect to be fully operational by Summer 2021. Once we are live, he/she will be involved in ALL aspects of the brewery operations from recipe formulation & optimization, to brewing, filtering, cleaning and lab work. By day, they should be able to heave 55lb bags of grain with reckless abandon, and by night be the face and voice of our brand.

A few of the specific duties expected: The complete brewing process from grinding to filling the fermenters; tracking & recording key measurements during whole process; yeast management; cellar management; tracking fermentations; filtering beer; cleaning tanks, ordering supplies. Yes, at launch we expect our brewer to be comfortable doing all this. He/she will soon be assisted by one or two additional sets of hands – but, as with any small business, we want people who take a joy in this process, and keep their hands dirty.

    Compensation:
Competitive salary based upon previous work experience and expertise.
Benefits package includes medical, vacation, and personal days.

    Location:
50 min drive west of Boston, in Greater Worcester area.
