Assistant Brewer/Cellarman

We need more people! Rahr & Sons Brewing Company began in 2004 in Fort Worth, Texas. We currently produce 6 year-round beers, four 6-pack seasons, and 10 specialty four-packs. The brewery is expanding, and we need another capable person to join an excited, hard-working, quality-focused team. Our beer is available in numerous states now, not just Texas. We are rapidly growing and brewing as much beer as possible to meet demand, which means we need to increase our production team accordingly. This position also offers room to grow as we expand our operation. This is a full-time position requiring a flexible schedule, working days, nights, and weekends.
Job Title: Assistant BrewerCellarman
Supervisors: Head Brewer, Director of Operations
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• Fermentor and Brite Tank CIP
• Centrifuge and Filter Operations
• Dryhopping
• Barrel Management
• Yeast Management
• Raw Materials
• Equipment Maintenance
• Forklift Operation
• Record Keeping

Other duties can include:

• Brand representative at events and festivals
• Brewery tours
• Support of sales staff

Key Skills and Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a professional brewer in a commercial brewery or brewpub
• Formal education preferred, but not required
• Self-starter, independent thinker, mature and confident personality
• Desire to grow professionally, drive to stay current with trends and topics, strong knowledge of beer styles
• Adaptability to changing circumstances and priorities
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Flexible schedule; willing to work long hours during high volume times, including nights and weekends
• Strong computer skills including Excel, Word, Email, etc.
• Mechanical aptitude, problem-solving, and troubleshooting nature
• 21 years or older
• Able to lift 55lb and move full kegs
• Ability to work in a load, wet, cold/hot environment for long periods of time
• Ability to bring good conversation when drinking quality beer
• Appreciation of coffee and the Wu-Tang Clan
