  • Brewer Position at Resident Culture Brewing in Charlotte, NC

Resident Culture is family owned and operated and was started in the Plaza Midwood neighborhood of Charlotte, NC in 2017. We strive to make Resident Culture a collaborative and engaging place to work for all of our employees. We have a small production team that works closely together to produce a variety of styles with a focus on lager beer and hop forward ales, as well as mixed culture and spontaneous ales. We are opening a second taproom this fall and are expanding our production team.

Why we think you will enjoy working with us:

The brewer/cellar person will work hand in hand with our head brewer and cellar/QC lead to help complete all cellar work (including transfers and tank cleaning) and all wort production on our 15BBL three vessel steam fired brew house. He/she/they will have collaborative input and a reasonable amount of creative freedom on recipe development, barrel tasting, quality control, and process techniques. We encourage input and suggestions and want to create an open and collaborative environment for all of our employees, if you have an idea we want to hear it. We are a dynamic brewery that is continuously refining our recipes, ingredients and approach in search of a better final product and we want you to be a part of that process.

We highly value our employees' quality of life. This means competitive compensation, health benefits, reasonable work hours, little to no weekend work, NO graveyards, paid travel for beer collaborations, educational conferences, beer festival participation, as well as a flexible time-off policy, and, of course, free beer.

    Qualifications:

We will not consider any applicants that do not have at least 2 years of brewing experience in a pub or production brewery setting. You should be very comfortable completing all cellar work (beer transfers with a strong focus on low dissolved oxygen, dry hopping, tank cleaning and sanitizing etc...), yeast management (sterile collection and pitching of yeast), all brewing duties and wort production, and general cleaning duties. We value great work ethic, communication skills and especially a positive attitude. We all work together to complete whatever task is needed and no one is above any job, whatever it may be. We expect the person hired to embrace this attitude. We are looking for someone who can learn quickly, work hard, and, of course, has a passion for quality beer. The candidate must be able to lift at least 55lbs, work long shifts on your feet, and forklift experience is a must.

We are hoping to fill this position as soon as possible.

Please send your resume, cover letter, and at least two references to Chris Tropeano at tropes@residentculturebrewing.com. Be sure to mention what styles of beers you most like to drink and mention a handful of the beers/breweries that are an inspiration to you. We promise to respond in a timely manner. Thanks for your interest.
