Are you a Heretic? Heretic Brewing Company is an award winning craft beer brewery and distillery located in Fairfield California and our family of Heretics is passionate about brewing the perfect beer. You would be joining our family of smart, funny, friendly and hardworking people as a Packaging Team Leader. What does that mean? Well, we aren't some giant brewery, where you sit in a glass cage all day and fill out reports. No, we're not a super tiny brewery either, where you end up cleaning the bathrooms every day, but our jobs come with a lot of different and ever changing challenges. After all, making the best beer is dependent on every little aspect of brewing, from the grain to the glass, and you will be a key part of that. We are looking for smart, highly motivated people with a professional demeanor and we are willing to train you for this career if you have the right aptitude and a willingness to learn.
Key Responsibilities
While the brewer position will be on the brew deck, brewing beer throughout the week, we try to expose all of our brewery staff employees to all of the aspects of brewery operation. Typical weekly tasks may include:
• Brewing beer on our four-vessel, 37 bbl brew system
• Packaging beer in kegs, cans or bottles
• Tracking fermentation
• Quality assurance
• Lab work
• Preparing loads for shipment
• Receiving shipments of materials
• Cellar management
• Record keeping
• Cleaning (kegs, tanks, floors, walls, and anything else that needs it)
Qualifications
• Home-brewing or Commercial brewery experience required
• 21 or older
• Self-motivated and proactive
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Adaptable and able to efficiently manage time and tasks
• A passion for and knowledge of craft beer
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills
• A valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Compensation based on experience
This position is full-time, 40 hours a week. Depending on the brew schedule, the position is 11am to 7:30pm, 2pm to 10:30pm and sometimes 8:30am to 5pm. We would prefer only applications from applicants residing within a 35 mile radius from our brewery.
Heretic is poised for great growth. We began brewing award-winning ales in 2011 and our rapid growth has allowed us to recently complete a large brewery expansion.
